PBI Version: What Does It Mean?

The acronym PBI stands for Pre Break-In.

This means the engine is factory pre-run (pre-broken-in) before being sold.
The goals are to:

reduce the break-in time,

lower the risk of engine seizure during the first start,

provide better stability from the first fuel tanks,

allow faster tuning and setup at the track.

The O.S. SPEED R2106 is a factory-tuned engine meticulously developed for 1/8 on-road racing competitions.

This new powerhouse features a 9-port cylinder liner with redesigned ports, delivering enhanced performance.

To ensure a robust power delivery from the low end, the crankshaft from the R21 Euro II has been incorporated, along with highly acclaimed ceramic ball bearings from off-road engines.

The newly designed, reinforced connecting rod is now more strong, capable of enduring the rigors of intense on-road racing conditions.
